Krista Cox is a poet and freelancer. In addition to Doubleback Review, Krista is Managing Editor of Sundress Publications and an Associate Poetry Editor at Stirring: A Literary Collection. Tassneem Abdulwahab

Tassneem Abdulwahab is a writer, editor, and book reviewer. With a strong interest in culture, history, and psychology and a love for fiction, her writing often draws on one or more of these threads to tell character-centric stories. She earned her BA (Hons) Creative and Professional Writing from UWE Bristol and has been in love with publishing ever since. As an artist, she’s most fond of oil painting and has sold several pieces over the last few years. In her free time, you can find her experimenting with new artistic mediums, researching for her next painting, or going down historical rabbit holes. Mia Huerta

Mia Huerta is a Chicana poet, born and raised in Chicago, now living north of Boston. Her poetry has previously appeared in Kenyon College’s HIKA and Washington University’s Spires magazine. Her work explores the intersections between the natural world, ancestral lineage, Chicana identity, and nostalgia. In her free time, she loves hiking in nearby woodlands, scrapbooking and baking.

Merrick Sloane

Merrick Sloane (they/them) is a neuro-Queer 90’s kid and nonbinary poet, editor, and researcher from Oklahoma, where they received their B.A. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Central Dissent: a Journal of Gender and Sexuality and Poetry Editor of New Plains Review. Currently, Merrick is pursuing their MFA at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where they serve as the Poetry Editor of Grist, and as the host of the creative writing department’s reading series and open mic, Chiasmus. When they are not writing or editing, Merrick loves to serve as a pillow for their cat, Kitten, while getting lost in new worlds written by other dreamers.

Meredith Hughes

Meredith Hughes is a PhD student studying English Rhetoric and Composition at the University of Cincinnati, where she lives with her roommates: her dog, cats, and plants. She received her MFA in prose from Miami University. She is writing an online dating memoir, which is otherwise known as a comedy of errors. Her writing has most recently appeared in wildscape. literary magazine. Meredith enjoys crocheting, singing, and continually rewatching New Girl

Hayli May Cox

Hayli May Cox is a PhD Candidate studying English/Creative Writing and Women’s and Gender Studies at The University of Missouri, though she’s really a Michigander. She primarily writes speculative fiction, flash fiction, and creative nonfiction essays, and she has taught literature, fiction, and creative nonfiction at various levels. Her stories and essays have been published online and in print, and she is currently working on one story collection and two book projects. In her free time Hayli paints, builds with Lego, critter watches, and hikes around with a backpack full of field guides. Find her work at haylicox.com.

Hannah Kitterman

Hannah Kitterman is a native Tennessean currently living in Knoxville. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2018 where she studied English Literature and French. During her time at UTK Hannah was a member of the Pride of the Southland Marching Band where she played the trombone and gained valuable life experience with heartbreaking losses and feverous fandom. Hannah is currently serving as a member of AmeriCorps with I Bike KNX, an organization that raises awareness for bicyclists and pedestrians and advocates for safe bicycling habits. You can find her at various intersections in Knoxville counting the number of pedestrians and people riding bicycles or reading with a cup of coffee while on the lookout for dogs to pet. She has never met a burrito or a four-legged animal that she did not love.
