Merrick Sloane

Merrick Sloane (they/them) is a neuro-Queer 90’s kid and nonbinary poet, editor, and researcher from Oklahoma, where they received their B.A. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Central Dissent: a Journal of Gender and Sexuality and Poetry Editor of New Plains Review. Currently, Merrick is pursuing their MFA at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where they serve as the Poetry Editor of Grist, and as the host of the creative writing department’s reading series and open mic, Chiasmus. When they are not writing or editing, Merrick loves to serve as a pillow for their cat, Kitten, while getting lost in new worlds written by other dreamers.

Meredith Hughes

Meredith Hughes is a PhD student studying English Rhetoric and Composition at the University of Cincinnati, where she lives with her roommates: her dog, cats, and plants. She received her MFA in prose from Miami University. She is writing an online dating memoir, which is otherwise known as a comedy of errors. Katie Bell

Katherine Bell is a fiction writer from Frederick, Maryland who earned her MFA from Eastern Washington University, where she worked as a fiction editor for Willow Springs Literary Magazine. She currently serves as the Director of SAFTA Films with the Sundress Academy for the Arts in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her short fiction has appeared in Grub Street Literary Magazine, The Fem, and Connotation Press, among others.

Hayli May Cox

Hayli May Cox is a PhD Candidate studying English/Creative Writing and Women’s and Gender Studies at The University of Missouri, though she’s really a Michigander. She primarily writes speculative fiction, flash fiction, and creative nonfiction essays, and she has taught literature, fiction, and creative nonfiction at various levels. Her stories and essays have been published online and in print, and she is currently working on one story collection and two book projects. In her free time Hayli paints, builds with Lego, critter watches, and hikes around with a backpack full of field guides. Find her work at haylicox.com.

Hannah Kitterman

Hannah Kitterman is a native Tennessean currently living in Knoxville. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2018 where she studied English Literature and French. During her time at UTK Hannah was a member of the Pride of the Southland Marching Band where she played the trombone and gained valuable life experience with heartbreaking losses and feverous fandom. Hannah is currently serving as a member of AmeriCorps with I Bike KNX, an organization that raises awareness for bicyclists and pedestrians and advocates for safe bicycling habits. You can find her at various intersections in Knoxville counting the number of pedestrians and people riding bicycles or reading with a cup of coffee while on the lookout for dogs to pet. She has never met a burrito or a four-legged animal that she did not love.

Shaylynn Marks has a BFA in Creative Writing, with poetry and prose published through several journals and sold internationally.
